First of all let me introduce what ENETI is. It is an annual conference held in a different Spanish university each year. It gives the opportunity to all the undergraduate translation and interpreting students of meeting other students, get immerse in the real world of translation and get some help from professionals.

Last Wednesday I travelled to Valencia where I attended ENETI. It had a duration of two exhausting days (from the 28th to the 29th April) with many different talks given by professionals. The conferences were at the University of Valencia. The talks were from 8:00 am to 8 pm therefore, the whole days were really busy.

More than 200 translation and interpreting students showed up. The lectures were about different topics like being a freelance translator, working as a professional interpreter and translating books. Some of the most important translators went as Cristina Macía (translator of Game of Thrones) and Pilar Ramírez Tello (translator of The Hunger Games) among others.

From my point of view, every translation and interpreting student should, at least, go to a ENETI meeting once in their life. It is really helpful as you meet other students and you can exchange opinions.

In the coming days I will be writing about some of the conferences that I found the most interesting and more pictures of this adventure.

See you soon,
